5 Signs You Are Stronger Than You Know

5 Signs You Are Stronger Than You Know

Believe me when I say that there have been times in my life where I honestly felt like things couldn’t get any worse.

Looking back now, I know that’s when I was at my strongest.

The craziest part is…I had no idea how much I had been through until I looked back.

I discovered the many times I beat the odds and made it through another day.

You know what I realized? Most people don’t realize how strong they are because strength comes in many forms.

Some are louder than others, sure. But some are silent. Docile. Not noticeable by the world around you, but you know it’s there — within you.

If you’ve faced recent challenges, roadblocks, or emotional chaos, you might be stronger than you realize.

I’m going to explain to you 5 ways you’re stronger than you realize right now as if I were sitting in front of you pointing them out so you can see what you may have been missing.

5 Signs You Are Stronger Than You Know

1. You’ve Been Through S*** And You Keep Showing Up

Life doesn’t give us a red carpet. Sometimes it slaps us with things we aren’t prepared for, and we still show up anyway.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Have you ever felt like life was testing your limits and you made it through?
  • Have you ever been through things that you thought you couldn’t survive? And you did?

These could be small things or big things. Strength comes in all forms and sizes. If you’re pushing through any kind of hardship and you’re still standing — you’re stronger than you think.

2. You Allow Yourself To Be Vulnerable Without Losing Yourself

Being strong doesn’t mean you don’t cry or you keep all your feelings bottled up.

Those are just weak cries for help.

Strength comes when you can allow yourself to be vulnerable WITHOUT IT OVERPOWERING YOU.

Sure signs you’re allowing yourself to be vulnerable:

  • You let yourself cry it out when you need to.
  • You ask for help when you need help.
  • You allow yourself to feel all types of emotions in your relationship.

Allowing yourself to be vulnerable takes strength. If you can allow yourself to be vulnerable and still love yourself through it, you’re emotionally stronger than you think.

3. You Don’t Let Your Mistakes Define You

Life is going to test you. Whether you fail or learn will determine your strength.

If you let every mistake swallow you up, then you’re weak.

Another sure sign you’re stronger than you think:

  • You look at your mistakes and learn from them.
  • You change your approach instead of attacking yourself.
  • You don’t give up.

Thank your mistakes for showing you what doesn’t work and keep pushing. That’s strength.

4. You Fight For Your Peace When Things Turn Negative

The world is full of haters, bad days, and unnecessary stress. It’s how you handle these things that show your strength.

Yes, even the haters.

If someone is trying to rain on your parade, don’t dance in the rain with them. See the negativity coming from them and move right past it.

You know you’re strong when:

  • You can walk away from people or situations that no longer serve you.
  • You don’t let others’ negativity affect your peace.
  • You don’t sweat the small stuff.

Life is too short to worry about the things that don’t matter. Fighting for your peace means not letting other people’s bad days ruin yours. If you can do that, you are stronger than most will ever know.

5. You Believe In Yourself Even When No One Else Does

Life is full of challenges. You will face people who doubt you, hate you, or want to see you lose.

But what matters is that you never lose faith in yourself.

You’re stronger than you think if:

  • You continue to push toward your goals even if nobody else believes in you.
  • You trust that your instincts are always leading you in the right direction — even when your path is unclear.
  • You believe that you will bounce back from any mistake or failure.

True strength means believing in yourself, even if you have to do it silently and no one else knows.

You are enough. You’re stronger than you think you are.

If you looked back on your life, I promise you could find examples of your strength all over your story.

You’re going to face more hardship and more challenges than you can imagine right now. But that’s okay because your strength has already been proven.

You are enough.

FAQ

How will I know if I’m strong?

Strength isn’t about how much you can suffer in silence or how “tough” you can look. Strength is about how long you can handle emotional turmoil and continue pushing forward.

Can you be quietly strong?

Yes. In fact, quiet strength is some of the strongest stuff there is. The strength we show when we get knocked down but continue to rise every time life kicks us in the teeth is the realest form of strength there is.

Is it a sign of weakness to show vulnerability?

No. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable is actually a sign of strength. Crying for help and never addressing the problem is weak. Knowing when to ask for help and taking control of your emotions is strength.

What if I don’t feel strong?

Again, strength isn’t about how you look on the outside. You can feel weak as hell and still be the strongest person in the room. Oftentimes, our weakest moments are what make us the strongest people we can become. Strength takes time.

How can I continue to build my strength?

Learn from your mistakes. Fight for your peace. Reflect on how much you’ve grown. And continue to believe in yourself, even when no one else does. Putting small pieces of your strength on display will eventually lead to you fully embracing how strong you really are.
