Spring has always been my favorite season. Winters always drag on for me—the air gets warmer and sunnier, flowers start blooming, and life naturally feels like a fresh start.
The resets I’ve learned to love most aren’t giant, Earth-shattering shifts. Instead, I focus on little ways I can reset my mind and life to feel more empowered, energized, and present.
Here are 10 small things I practice every year that can ease you into spring.
1. Declutter One Small Space
Springs are the perfect time to declutter your life. One major practice that helps me feel refreshed every year is decluttering.
Instead of trying to deep clean your entire home in one day (we both know where that mindset can lead), try decluttering one small space that’s been on your mind.
Here are some ideas:
- Desk drawer / workspace
- Closet: full of clothes you haven’t worn in the past year?
- Kitchen cabinets: spices? Ancient items in your pantry?
- Computer or phone: emails, pictures, apps?
Pick one space and dedicate 15–30 minutes to clearing it out. You can listen to music or a podcast while you do it. By the end, you’ll feel like you truly made a difference in your life.
Pro tip: Don’t get caught up in trying to deep clean your whole home. Small victories, people! Spring cleaning can start with just one corner of your room.
Tip from the turtles: Trust me, when you declutter one small space in your life, it opens the floodgates to inspiration. You’ll start to feel motivated to declutter your routines, habits, brain space—everything.

2. Refresh Your Morning Routine
I love waking up early, but often my morning routines fell into SUCH a rut over the years. There were moments I enjoyed, but most of them felt exhausting—especially if I woke up feeling tired.
The thing is, morning routines don’t need to suck. In fact, small shifts to your mornings can change your entire energy levels for the day. Here are some of my favorites:
- Drink a glass of water first thing
- Move your body for at least five minutes. Stretching is great!
- Write down one intention for the day
- Take 3 minutes to breathe, journal, or sit outside
You don’t need to adopt 20 new morning habits—though you can if you want to! Simply taking small steps to change up your routine can make your mornings feel more refreshing and calm.
Pro tip: Try one shift one week, then add something new the next week. Building your routine little by little is less overwhelming and stressful.

3. Spend More Time Outside
Speaking of moving your body, what better way to do that than outdoors? Spring is such a magical time to go outside. Nature allows us to shift our mindset and clear our thoughts.
Here are some of the ways I like to reconnect with mother nature:
- Take a morning or evening walk. Notice your surroundings
- Sit outside with your coffee/tea
- Visit a local park or botanical garden
- Plant some new flowers or herbs. Doesn’t have to be in a garden!
You don’t need to go on a hardcore nature expedition. Spending just 10–15 minutes outside can improve your mood, boost mental clarity, and help you focus on the present.
Pro tip: Just two minutes outside can reduce stress, according to Harvard Health.
4. Clean Up Your Digital Space
Our phones and computers are a reflection of our brains. Cluttered emails? Subscriptions? Instagram feeds?
Here are some things I like to tidy up come spring:
- Unfollow people on social media that don’t bring you joy
- Delete unused apps; organize them into folders
- Unsubscribe from emails you don’t read. Same with text subscriptions
- Turn off non-essential notifications
It’s amazing how great you’ll feel after decluttering your digital space. Not only will you have less mental clutter, but your days will feel more calming and intentional.
5. Check In on Your Personal Goals
Another thing I love to do each spring is check in on my personal goals. What goals have I created so far this year? Do I still care about them? How can I adjust them to serve me better?
Spring is the perfect time to do a personal objectives reset. Sometimes I end up completely letting goals go that no longer serve me. Other times, I simply tweak them to align with my truest intentions.
Use this time as an opportunity to make sure you’re working toward goals that bring you joy, not stress.
6. Eat Seasonal Foods
Spring is the perfect time to eat seasonal foods. While I don’t believe in crazy diet restrictions, I love using the change of season as an opportunity to nourish my body with different foods.
Think berries and citrus. Simple grain bowls. Lots of hydration with water and herbal teas.
Eat what feels light and refreshing to you! Spring is the perfect time to reset your diet, but only in the gentlest ways.
7. Refresh Your Closet
Out with the old, in with the new—spring is a great time to refresh your wardrobe.
Here’s what I love to do each year:
- Donate clothes I didn’t wear last season
- Patch up or wash clothes that need some TLC
- Roll out all my light sweaters and shirts
You don’t have to go buy a bunch of new clothes to refresh your closet. Oftentimes, I feel the most inspired and confident when my closet is pared down and simple.
Trust me, getting dressed each day will feel lighter—and so will you.
8. Reconnect With Friends & Family
Spring cleaning can extend to your relationships too!
I love to:
- Send a message to old friends I haven’t talked to in a while
- Plan easy coffee dates or outdoor walks
- Spend more intentional time with family
These small connections create emotional equilibrium and happiness in our lives. Whether it’s a friend you haven’t talked to in years, or your mom, sending a simple text can shift your spring energy.
Bonus: Take your loved ones outside with you!
9. Fill Your Life With Little Joys
Joyful rituals are so important to incorporate into your life—no matter the season. Here are some of mine I try to practice each spring:
- Fresh flowers on my table
- Trying a new hobby
- Listening to music that uplifts me
- Going outside to enjoy some sunshine
What little joys will you include in your life this spring?
Journaling the good stuff can help you find more joyful activities to practice daily or seasonally.
10. Journal & Reflect on Your Spring Refresh

Spring cleaning can extend to your mind too! Take time at the end of your spring refresh to write down:
- What you accomplished this spring
- What you cleared out of your life
- What you’d like to focus on moving forward
This allows you to find perspective on your reset and carry these healthy habits with you well past spring.
The key to spring cleaning your mind & life isn’t pressure. It’s not about intense shifts, drastic life updates, or overwhelming your mind and body.
Spring cleaning is the little moments. Every choice you make—no matter how big or small—can shift your energy, increase your clarity, and help you welcome warmer weather with open arms.
Spring (and Easter) is my favorite time of the year because it gives us the opportunity to start fresh. Allow these small shifts to empower you and your life one day at a time.
